Many years ago I was dining at the Bonanza Steakhouse in Malden, Mass. and who but Burl Ives should be sitting at the table next to mine. Imagine my surprise when he reached over and snatched the Texas Toast right off my bread plate. I was always a fan of his so I said nothing.
