Years ago, my grandmother and aunt were at Loehmann’s one day when one of Angie Dickinson’s assistants barged into the dressing room and asked everyone to leave so her boss could try on several dresses.
No one budged, of course, and after a few minutes Angie came in on her own and joined the scrum. My grandmother said she was very nice.
Apparently Bella Abzug had tried the same thing a few weeks before but stormed out of the store when her request for privacy was refused.
